Planned Gifts: Investment for Our Future

There are many types of Planned Gifts that can benefit Family Centered Services of CT from a simple bequests to Charitable Gift Annuities, Charitable Lead Trusts to gifts of Life Insurance and property.
Please confer with your professional advisors about the best options for our estate plan.
Bequests: A bequest is a gift of personal property (cash, stocks, tangible property, etc.) made after death, generally through a will or an estate plan. Gifts such as simple bequests provide Family Centered Services with the sustainable resources it needs to ensure for our future. Your bequest is a commitment to our future allowing Family CT to provide innovative programs that meet the changing needs of our most vulnerable. A bequest allows you to provide for those you love and also allows you the opportunity to provide for a charity and cause that matters to you now. A bequest made to Family Centered Service of CT demonstrates that the well-being of the children and families that we serve will continue to be met.
Below is sample language that can be used when making a bequest to Family Centered Services of CT.
  • I give, devise or bequeath to Family Centered Services of CT, Inc., a 501c3 organization, located at 235 Nicoll Street, New Haven, CT, for general use and purposes the following assets: ____________________.
  • Percentage Bequest – A percentage bequest directs the bequest designation as a percentage of an estate rather than a specific dollar amount or specific item. Suggested Language for Percentage Bequest: I give, devise, and bequeath ____% to Family Centered Services of CT a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization located at 235 Nicoll Street, New Haven, CT, for general use and purposes.
  • Residuary Bequest – Residuary Bequests are made when you leave all or part of the residue of your assets after other terms of the Will have been satisfied.  Because residuary bequests are distributed last, donors sometimes feel a level of comfort knowing their wishes for family and loved ones will be provided for first.
Suggested Language for Residuary Bequest: I give, devise, and bequeath the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate consisting of property, both real and personal, wherever situated, which I may own or be entitled to at my death to Family Centered Services of CT, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization located at 235 Nicoll Street, New Haven, CT.
